Install Codexta from the Shopify App Store. The Shopify account owner becomes the Owner in Codexta.
Codexta adds a chat assistant to your Shopify storefront. It answers shoppers from your own knowledge base, helps them find products and fill the cart, and hands checkout to Shopify. In the Shopify admin, a back-office assistant reads your orders, customers and products, and changes something only after you say yes.
Billed through Shopify · free trial on every plan · payment always in Shopify checkout
Codexta’s pages sit in the Shopify sidebar. Each person sees the pages their role allows.
Shoppers talk to the assistant on your storefront. You and your team work with Codexta inside the Shopify admin.
The merchant guide walks through each step in detail.
Install Codexta from the Shopify App Store. The Shopify account owner becomes the Owner in Codexta.
Pick a plan on Shopify’s plan page. Plans, prices and the free trial are shown there and on the App Store listing.
In the theme editor, check that Codexta assistant is switched on under App embeds, then press Save.
On the Overview, press Set up my assistant. Nothing is saved until you have seen the text and approved it.
Prices, limits and the free trial are on the Shopify App Store listing and on Shopify’s plan page when you install. There is no free plan. What each plan adds:
| Feature | Lite | Start | Growth | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Storefront assistant, admin assistant, knowledge base | Included | Included | Included | Included |
| Note enrichment (✦ Enrich) | — | Included | Included | Included |

Limits. Each plan sets how many conversations a month, how many knowledge base notes and how long conversations are kept. Your own plan’s limits and this month’s use are in Codexta under Settings › Plan.
Billing. You pay through your Shopify bill and change plan on Shopify’s own plan page. For a larger plan priced on quote, write to codexta@codecta.com.
Each shop’s notes, conversations and settings are kept apart from every other shop.
Conversations older than your plan’s retention period are deleted every night. Daily statistics keep counts only.
Uninstalling cancels the subscription. 48 hours later, all of the shop’s data is deleted.
The assistant fills the cart and opens Shopify’s checkout. It never asks for card details and never takes payment.
When a customer asks Shopify to delete their data, their conversations are deleted. Whenever someone from Codexta works in your shop’s data, it is recorded for you under Settings › Team. Read the privacy policy.
More in the merchant guide.
No. Codexta has four paid plans — Lite, Start, Growth and Scale — each with a free trial. Until a plan is approved, the assistant does not answer shoppers.
You choose a plan on Shopify’s plan page and approve it there. The trial days shown there are free; after that the plan is charged on your Shopify bill. You can switch plan from Settings › Plan in Codexta, which opens Shopify’s plan page.
No. The storefront assistant is a theme app embed called “Codexta assistant”. You switch it on or off in the theme editor under App embeds and press Save.
The store owner gives each colleague a role under Settings › Team. Only the Owner and Admins can change settings or let the back-office assistant change products, prices, customers or discounts, and it asks them before each change. KB editors can change the knowledge base. Support agents, Support managers and Viewers read reports and conversations. See all roles.
The assistant replies in the language the shopper writes in. The chat window’s own buttons come in English, Croatian, Bosnian, German, French and Spanish. You can give the greeting and starter questions their own wording in other languages.
No. It adds items to your shop’s cart and opens Shopify’s checkout. Shipping, taxes and payment all happen there.
The subscription is cancelled and Codexta’s access to your shop is revoked. 48 hours after you uninstall, all of your shop’s data is deleted. If you reinstall, you choose a plan again.
